Phony Emergency-If
you dial a 911 emergency before the vote, the Indianola Fire
Department truck will arrive within minutes. If you dial a 911
emergency a year after this tax fails, the Indianola Fire
Department truck will still arrive within minutes. If Jerry
wants a new fire station, then he needs to quit spending all of our
money on other stuff.
Phony Ideas-"Warren
County is a resort area because most of our sales tax comes from
outside Warren County." What part of Iowa ranks nearly dead last
in tourism nationally do these guys not understand. Iowa
currently ranks 45/50. Warren County is NOT a tourism
destination. Nearly all our tax base comes from Warren
County Iowans who should not be paying twice for their City services,
once in property tax and once more with a bogus new sales tax.

Facts-They
say they are promoting well being and life but really they are promoting
burning up every possible revenue stream for the dream of a few people
at the expense of everyone.
Deception in Concept-The
cities are comparing what you would pay in sales vs. property and
saying they are different. Are the construction companies
offering discounts for sales tax financed projects now? No they
are not. This will cost you the same, millions each year, and
you will not see any property tax reduction because they will only
relieve themselves and shift your "relief" money to pay for something
else for themselves. That's how the "relief" works.
Sold
as a Penny-But
it’s really millions of dollars. Never fall for the "Its
only a penny," game! You will pay millions more in taxes
without noticing it but I am sure your children will pay the price
with new higher taxes and smaller and smaller Christmas presents. $22
Million is not a penny.
Timing and Voter Turnout-
This ballot issue could be presented at the next general election, but
they are hoping nobody votes, giving them a blank check. Please
vote NO and disappoint them.
It should be illegal to hold an election 4 days after the 4th of July.
